At Pure Tennis St Hilda’s, our programs are built around age-appropriate development, structured progression and enjoyment of the game.

All junior programs align with the Tennis Australia Hot Shots pathway, providing a clear and proven progression from beginner to advanced levels.

A summary of the pathway:

  • Pre-Prep – Mini Red Ball (Blue Stage)

  • Prep & Year 1 – Red Ball

  • Years 2–4 – Orange Ball

  • Years 5–7 – Green Ball

  • Years 8–12 – Gold Ball

Pre-Prep | Mini Red Ball (Blue stage)

30 minutes

Following the Tennis Australia Hot Shots Blue Stage blueprint.
Designed for our youngest players, these sessions focus on:

  • Fundamental movement skills

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Basic racquet skills

  • Fun, confidence-building activities

An ideal introduction to tennis in a safe and engaging environment.

Prep & Year 1 | Red Ball

60 minutes

Following Tennis Australia Hot Shots Red Stage 1–3, players develop:

  • Basic rallying skills

  • Movement and balance

  • Simple game play and scoring

  • Confidence using a smaller court and softer balls

These sessions build strong foundations while keeping learning fun and engaging.

Year 2-4 | Orange Ball

60 minutes

Following Tennis Australia Hot Shots Orange Stage 1–3, players progress towards:

  • Improved rally consistency

  • Directional control

  • Introduction to tactics and point play

  • Greater court awareness and movement

Year 5-7 | Green Ball

60 minutes

Following Tennis Australia Hot Shots Green Stage 1 & 2, programs are split into Beginner and Elite groups to cater for varying experience levels.

Focus areas include:

  • Full-court movement and consistency

  • Tactical decision-making

  • Match play fundamentals

  • Preparation for competitive tennis

Year 8 - 12 | Gold Ball

60-90 minutes

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced players.

These sessions are designed to:

  • Refine technique and shot selection

  • Develop tactical awareness

  • Build match fitness and mental skills

  • Prepare players for competition and school tennis

Match Play Sessions

90 minutes

Match play sessions are designed for players who are rallying and ready to apply their skills in game situations.

Available for:

  • Red Ball

  • Orange Ball

  • Green Ball

  • Gold Ball

These sessions focus on tactics, scoring, decision-making and building confidence through real match experience.
